The UK Search Awards are looked highly upon in the digital marketing world, they have been renowned for over half a decade. The awarding body celebrates talents and achievements in the search industry, awarding both organic and paid marketing efforts across the UK. This year, Digital Ethos have been selected as a shortlist for ‘Best Local SEO Campaign‘ category and we are very excited about it!

Welcome to the UK Search Awards

The yearly awards gather hundreds of entries from leading digital agencies delivering work to customers in the UK market. The UK search awards span over 33 categories, celebrating the highest quality campaigns, software’s and the creative minds behind them.

No two sectors in the industry are the same, that’s why it is important to understand what each category is judging and where to best fit your case study or campaign. There is different competition, tactics and strategies across the different industries. Each entry must be relevant and specific, showcasing the success of Search Engine Optimisation or Pay Per Click advertising.

Open to all Agencies of all Sizes

The UK Search Awards accept paid entries from all sized agencies, from start-up to established. Every agency has their hurdles and their successes, no matter how many employees there are this should be celebrated fairly. The awards are sponsored by a range of industry leading tools and brands in the Digital Marketing industry, such as SEMrush, Majectic, Deepcrawl, Optymyzr and loads more!

Search Award Categories

Each category has a dedicated panel of judges. They take into consideration a whole range of factors in order to be shortlisted and judged for that category. The judges consider the category criteria, company growth and profitability, client wins and retention, quality of work delivered, company culture and employee development and training.

Each successful SEO or PPC campaign is unique and therefore needs to fit perfectly into one of the Search Awards categories. A few of the most popular 2018 categories are:

  • Best use of search – retail
  • Best use of search – B2B
  • Best use of search – health
  • Best local Campaign
  • Best low budget campaign

Campaign Criteria

The dedicated panel of judges review a range of information about each entry to firstly establish if they are suitable for that criteria, and then to decide whether it is worthy of a shortlist or even winning. Entrants need to demonstrate how their campaign has been a success through tangible results. This should be presented in a structured way, allowing clarity for the judges.

You can’t blow your own trumpet too much and ramble on for days, each entry is limited to a 1000-word limit and should always relate to campaigns success. Each entry must include a few things to make it into the consideration stage: total budget, objectives, strategy & target audience, creativity & implementation, and most importantly results & evaluation.

Best Local Campaign

Digital Ethos entered one of their successful local search engine optimisation campaigns into the ‘Best Local Campaign’ category.  In 2017, Signature & Receptions were awarded the best local campaign for Finding a Local Care Home Made Easy.

As a recommended Digital Marketing agency, we showcased our London Preschool campaign, delivering a full service online local campaign. Digital Ethos supported and fostered London Preschools local expansion plans with PPC, SEO, social & strategy and web design & development.

In such a competitive market swamped with national competitors with large budgets, London preschool successfully compete and dominate for search terms across both SEO and PPC campaigns. Digital Ethos have worked outstandingly hard to ensure this success, not only for their original website, but across their x6 new locations.

Digital Ethos continue to work hand in hand with London Preschool, curating content, delivering infographics, manually building backlinks and maintaining PPC campaigns. The nursery continues to expand during 2019 and we are currently designing and building multiple websites.

Dominate Local Search Engines

Local SEO is an effective way to improve the visibility of a business online, promoting local products or services. 95% of users are searching for location-based search queries, looking for the more relevant response near them at the point of search.  This means allowing Google to easily find the businesses city, postcode and phone number – often publicised through Google My Business. Search Engine Watch found that 70% of mobile users click to call a business through the search engine results page.

Google’s local map pack is one of the best performing positions on Googles search engine results. The map pack originally showed 7 business listings per search query, but this has been reduced to 3, hence the hungry competition to hold that spot. Securing your businesses position in the local map pack allows your business to be seen by more potential customers, gaining trust an credibility online.

Local SEO provides your audience and potential customers with instant information they want, for example ‘Preschool in London.’ The more visible your business is, the more potential conversions your business has to take advantage of.
